Root Canals Treatment (Endodontics)

What is a root canal treatment/endodontics?

A root canal procedure is performed to restore a tooth's damaged inside. It is also known as endodontic treament.

It requires a hole to be made in the tooth and removal of the dental pulp, which is the soft interior. The dental pulp extends into the tooth roots and is composed of connective tissue, nerves, and a blood supply. The area is filled and sealed after the pulp has been eliminated.

If necessary, it is also possible to replace the crown, or chewing-surface of the tooth.

A qualified endodontist or your general dentist can administer root canal therapy.

When is root canal treatment required?

A severely infected or damaged tooth may be saved with a root canal procedure. It's possible that the tooth became infected or injured due to decay, multiple dental procedures, wear and tear, gum disease, broken fillings, or a tooth injury.

If you have a toothache, it may be good to visit your local dentist and have it checked out.

Why should I do root canal treatment?

While it may be easier to simply extract the tooth, even implants or dentures are not the best alternative to preserving your teeth.

We believe that there is no better teeth than our natural ones, and as such, root canal treatment can help to save your infected tooth from needing removal.
