Things to AVOID

  1. Avoid using your teeth to open packaging/bottles

  2. NO using straws after surgery

  3. Do not eat hard foods immediately. It is often more comfortable to eat soft foods like porridge or ice cream.

  4. NO SMOKING- The act of smoking can cause infections and cause the implant to fail.

  5. No using ‘brightening’ or ‘whitening’ advertised toothpaste - including charcoal toothpaste.

Things to DO

  1. Brushing your implant between meals with a soft toothbrush

  2. Use a low-abrasive toothpaste. You can ask your dentist for any recommendations

  3. Cut your food into smaller pieces and consume small sizes

  4. Use mouthwash

  5. Floss daily.
